Judy Garland - Two Signed Documents/Contracts 1951 & 1964. Two signed documents by Judy Garland. The first dated February 1, 1951 to perform on the prestigious Sunday night radio broadcast called The Big Show hosted by Tallulah Bankhead and hosted on NBC Radio. "Show" ran for two years and was a tremendously expensive 90 minute show given the talent presented, a virtual "who's who" of American entertainment at the time in an effort to trump the growing appeal of television. Critics observed that the show all but redeemed radio but not avail against television. Bankhead said in her autobiography, " I had snatched radio out of the grave. The autopsy was delayed." The one page contract with terms and condition on verso, boldly signed by Garland and by an executive for NBC with the last name of Barry. The other is a detailed dispute between Garland, CBS Televison and Kingsrow Enterprises, Inc outlining payments involving several parties including Mel Torme, Dan Dailey, Jerry Van Dyke and others as well as Garland responsible for certain payments. This five page outline makes for fascinating reading, a peek behind the dollars, talent and players in television programming. Document is signed TWICE by Garland and a representative of CBS Television and Creative Management Associates. Both in excellent condition.
Estimated Value $900 - 1,500.

The second is a contract agreement by Busby Berkeley and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures dated Oct. 22, 1948 allowing rights for the Esther Williams Water Sequence images for Photoplay from Berkeley's 1949 film, Take Me Out To The Ballgame which starred Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Esther Williams.
